October brings a varied mix of theatrical releases and streaming titles, from returning comedy franchises and the next chapter of a cult thriller to historical dramas, spy comedies and stories inspired by real lives. Here are 10 movies and shows to watch this month, along with what they are about, where to watch them and when they release.
1. Dupahiya Season 2
The residents of Dhadakpur are back, and this time Roshni has just seven days left before her SSC exam. While she struggles to stay focused, Bhugol tries to help her chase her dreams, Banwari gets caught up in his mission to bring a mobile tower to the village, and Amavas finds himself dealing with an unexpected romantic complication.
Gajraj Rao, Renuka Shahane, Sparsh Shrivastava, Bhuvan Arora and Shivani Raghuvanshi return, with Dinesh Lal Yadav aka Nirahua joining the new season.

2. Chumbak Part 2
The interconnected families of Chumbak Colony return with eight new episodes and even more trouble brewing between neighbours.
One person’s problem once again has a way of becoming everyone’s problem, as friendships are tested and the residents continue to interfere in each other’s lives. Neena Gupta, Deven Bhojani, Arjun Bijlani, Helly Shah, Manasi Parekh and Sumeet Vyas return with the ensemble cast.

3. Drishyam: The Conclusion
Years after Vijay Salgaonkar covered up an accidental killing, the secret that he fought so hard to protect continues to threaten his family. New dangers force Vijay to once again rely on his ability to think several steps ahead, while betrayal and sacrifice make protecting his family more complicated than ever.
Ajay Devgn and Shriya Saran return, with Tabu, Jaideep Ahlawat and Prakash Raj in the main cast.

4. Pooja Meri Jaan
Pooja’s life takes a dangerous turn as obsession, fear and the search for truth begin closing in around her. What initially appears to be a personal crisis develops into a darker story where relationships and hidden motives become increasingly important.
Mrunal Thakur leads the film with Huma Qureshi, Vikram Singh Chauhan, Vijay Raaz and Chaitanya Vyas.

5. Bethlehem Kudumba Unit
Justin, an unmarried man who has settled into a routine of running his own catering business, finds his life changing when Ashley moves in next door. Their relationship forms the centre of this romantic drama, with the age difference between the two adding another layer to their equation.
Nivin Pauly and Mamitha Baiju lead the film, alongside Sangeeth Prathap, Vinay Forrt, Suresh Krishna and Srinda.

6. Udta Teer
Bilal, a Pakistani intelligence operative played by Ayushmann Khurrana, loses his memory after an explosion and wakes up believing he is an officer with India’s Counter-Terrorism Squad.
Sara Ali Khan plays a fellow CTS officer who is unaware of his real identity, setting off a chain of mistaken identities, espionage mishaps and chaotic situations. Rahul Bose, Ram Kapoor, Gulshan Grover, Suhail Nayyar and Brijendra Kala also feature in the ensemble.

7. Ranabaali
Set against the devastating Madras Famine of 1876 – 78, Ranabaali takes audiences into 19th-century South India and follows a Rayalaseema man who rises against colonial oppression.
Vijay Deverakonda plays the titular character, while Rashmika Mandanna plays Jayamma, his wife and companion in the struggle. Arnold Vosloo plays the British antagonist Sir Theodore Hector in this period action drama.

8. The One About Matthew Perry
The three-part documentary looks beyond Matthew Perry’s most famous role as Chandler Bing to explore his life, career and long struggle with addiction.
Drawing on memories from people close to him, including his sister Mia Perry Bowick and material from the family’s private archive, the series attempts to present the person behind the television star and his public battle with addiction.

9. The Invite
A dinner invitation forces Joe and Angela to confront uncomfortable questions about their marriage, their desires and the truths they may have been avoiding. What begins as a simple social gathering gradually turns into an examination of relationships and attraction.
Seth Rogen, Olivia Wilde, Penélope Cruz and Edward Norton headline the film, directed by Wilde.

10. Ayyana Mane 2
The mystery surrounding the ancestral house returns with a new threat. The first season followed newlywed Jaji as she uncovered a disturbing pattern of deaths in her husband’s family, linked to the sacred Kondayya idol.
The second season promises to take that dark family mystery further, with a deadly force awakened by the secrets buried within the family. Kushee Ravi and Akshya Nayaka return to the franchise, with Ramesh Indira directing.
