Sacred Games Season 2 Review – Aham Brahmasmi!

Sacred Games was Netflix India’s Biggest Web series which came out in 2018, Directed by  Anurag Kashyap & Vikramaditya Motwane. After the whooping response from the audience, Netflix is back again with the Season 2 of Sacred Games, this time with more aggression, wildness, drama, and craziness.

About the cast

The series is based on Vikram Chandra’s 2006 novel of the same name. Starring  Kalki Koechlin, Aamir Bashir, Sameer Kochhar, Luke Kenny, Ranvir Shorey, Girish Kulkarni, Chittaranjan Tripathi, Jatin Sarna, Vikram Kochhar, Amruta Subhash, Neeraj Kabi, Elnaaz Norouzi, Nawazuddin Siddiqui as Ganesh Gaitonde, Saif Ali Khan as Sartaj Singh and Pankaj Tripathi as Guruji.

The Plot

The Season 2 majorly focuses on Gaitonde’s third father who is Guruji, Guruji is an influencer who plays with the minds of people and forces them to destroy the world and Gaitonde was one of his keys to do so.

Guruji is capable enough to change one’s perspective with his lectures and “Special Pills – Gochi”. And major information to increase your excitement – Sartaj’s father Dilbagh Singh was one of Guruji’s followers.

Meanwhile, Sartaj gained a lot of respect for his work and now rewarded to lead the case. Majid and Parulkar are obviously not happy about it. During the investigation, Sartaj meets KD Yadav, a RAW agent who kept Gaitonde somewhere in the middle of the Indian Ocean and asked him to move his operations to Kenya, where they both can work for their benefits.

In the ’90s Gaitonde starts to build his empire in Mombasa, smuggling drugs and weapons and building his gang once again. Now, no one respects Gaitonde in Mumbai, in fact, no one even knows who Gaitonde was, this hurts him a lot and he wants to conquer Mumbai once again.

Batya Sacred Games

New Characters

A new character – Batya Abelman played by Kalki Koechlin was introduced in the season. Sartaj meets Batya in the Ashram, where he pretends to be tensed and looking for peace. Batya was Guruji’s trusted one who heads operations after Guruji’s death.

She was someone who admires Guruji a lot and she’s also the administrator as well as the “New Guru” of the Ashram.

The season also contains a scene that refers to 9/11, so you can imagine that the story is not only about Gaitonde or Mumbai or Sartaj, it is something very big, bigger than you can imagine.

Shahid Khan Sacred Games

In Season 2 one of the major questions was answered, “ 25 din me kya hone wala hai? “  So you need to watch it right now to know what’s gonna happen. The mastermind behind the chaos is Shahid Khan and his mission is to ‘Blow up India’.

The Suspense

Some of the major Politicians of the city are also involved in the plan. Will we have a Season 3 of Sacred Games, as many of the questions were unanswered like – Was Sartaj able to save the city?

The series is full of twists and turns, basically, it’s a puzzle and requires your complete attention to understand what’s happening exactly, it shows the past, present and the future at the same time and can confuse you.

On top of it, to understand Guruji’s perspective you need to focus on all the aspects of the show.
