hasmukh review

Hasmukh is a dark-comedy series which also narrates the dark side of the Big screen and reality TV show industry. We get to see Vir Das as a small-town guy from UP who is an orphan who grew up getting insulted, abused, and bullied by everyone around him.

The story begins when Hasmukh’s guide – Gulati (Manoj Pahwa) didn’t keep his promise of giving a big break to Hasmukh. As a result, Gulati gets killed by Hasmukh and the real story begins. Hasmukh starts his journey on stage but sooner realizes that he can’t conquer the stage without killing someone.

We get to see Ranvir Shorey as Jimmy Bhaiya, who actually discovers that killing people is what boosts Hasmukh’s confidence on stage and this becomes the secret to Hasmukh’s success.

We also get to see Ravi Kishan playing the role of Pratap Sinha and Suhail Nayyar who plays the role of KK in the web series. Both the actors have performed brilliantly in the series and their presence has given a boost to the characters.

Hasmukh takes the audience in the world of struggling artists from a small town who desperately needs a break in the industry to form their lives. Being a standup comic himself, Vir Das has given a great performance in the series.

The dark-comedy series has too many sub-plots in the 10-episodes and looks a bit extended. But it’s a totally different concept compared to the rational comedy web series and you can give it a watch.
