MunnaTripathi Mirzapur

5 Reasons People loved the evil character of MunnaTripathi from Mirzapur!

As Mirzapur has taken the whole nation by storm, no one can argue that it is one of the finest creations to come out in the Indian web series sphere. Coming from one of the most prestigious production houses like Excel, which has bestowed us with gems in the Bollywood sphere like Dil Chahta Hai and Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, the storyline and production value of the web series is nothing short of a movie.

With a stellar star cast of Pankaj Tripathi, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Shweta Tripathi, Rasika Dugal, Vikrant Massey and of course Liquid aka Divyendu Sharma.

Munna Tripathi’s Character:-
Munna Tripathi, the Mirzapur version of a star-kid was loud-mouthed, ill-mannered, brazen and yet memorable in his own myriad way. He was the prince to a kingdom and yet relatable in some ways.

So here are 5 reasons why people love Munna Tripathi from Mirzapur :

Disappointed Father

Munna Tripathi dealt with a strict and ever-disappointed father like every engineering student who couldn’t make it to the IITs would know about. We have the quintessential Sharmaji ka Ladka, Munna bhaiya has Panditji ke Ladke – the overachievers who were always better at everything and always the standard for comparison for poor old Munna.

Pressure to Prove Himself

Although he is the prince of Mirzapur, he is constantly under ridicule by people who know that his privilege is not earned and just a matter of damn luck. He is always under pressure to prove himself and to prove that he is, in fact, worthy of his title as the Prince of Mirzapur.

Constant No from his lady love

Calling Sweety Gupta as his lady love would seem distasteful to the storyline but like countless Bollywood rom-com heroes trying to woo the girl with nothing much other than relentless badgering, Munna bhaiya too like the 90s hero is obsessed with one lady in his life. Her constant rejection and his relentless pursuit is a fierce embodiment of every man currently soldiering on in the battlefield of Tinder, still optimistic to finally get a match.

He’s got SWAG

The “Chacha Oo Chacha” Scene which took the internet by storm was one of the Best examples of the Swag Munna Bhaiya has!
He is rude, abusive, brash and downright cruel. But what he also is our guilty pleasure to watch.

Special Mention: Acting Skills
Although the character of Munna Bhaiya is central to the storyline and indispensable, we have to commend the acting chops of Divyendu Sharma who was able to remain in our mind despite a stellar star cast and incredible storyline. Known mostly for his debut role in Pyaar Ka Punchnama as Nishant aka Liquid and his ‘kutton ka koi Sunday Nahin Hota’ speech, Divyendu really showed us his never-seen-before avatar. Cheers to Divyendu Sharma, hoping to see him more in the future.
